Blueberry Prime news rule: entries versus exits
Prime prohibits new entries within two minutes either side of scheduled high-impact news, but allows management and closure of existing positions. Do not import a different provider’s blanket exit ban or interpret “no risk cap” as no rules.
Mark the entry window
For an independent hypothetical 14:30 release, the restricted new-entry window runs around 14:28–14:32 in the calendar’s own timezone. Avoid boundary-second assumptions: save the event time, platform time and trade timestamp together. An unscheduled event does not have the same predictable calendar marker.

Diagram explained
Identify order purpose and event timezone
- −2 to +2 minutes: no new entry
- Existing SL / TP / partial exit: allowed
- Prime only: do not generalise
Existing exits remain permitted
Prime’s specific policy expressly allows stop-loss, take-profit and partial closes during the window when the position was opened outside it. Keeping an older position open is different from initiating a fresh entry around the release. This permission is product-specific.

Other strategy rules still apply
Prime’s overview removes the Legacy 1.5% per-idea limit, but still links prohibited strategies. Arbitrage, cross-platform hedging, third-party copying and exploitative automation need separate checking. A permission to manage news risk is not approval of a news-sniping system.

Build a usable event record
Record whether each order opened a position or reduced one, along with the purchased programme. That distinction makes a rule dispute easier to explain than a screenshot of profit alone. Country eligibility and simulated-account terms remain separate from trading-style permission.
