How to compare two or three providers without losing the important differences

A repeatable workflow for narrowing options, using filters and checking the original conditions.

Set your non-negotiables first

Write down your country, preferred platform, expected holding period and the service you need. Separate broker accounts from prop evaluation programs. These requirements define the comparison; brand popularity should not define it for you. Start with two candidates and add a third only if it answers a real unresolved question.

Four decision steps: eligibility and entity, total cost, money-out rules, and practical checks.

Diagram explained

A good fit depends on your situation, not a single ranking.

  1. Confirm that the entity and product are available for your residence, nationality and customer category.
  2. Compare the full cost and money-out rules for your expected trading style and payment method.
  3. Use a demo to learn mechanics, then check the live terms separately. Demo performance cannot prove live execution, withdrawal reliability or suitability.

Compare the same scenario

For brokers, align entity, account type, instrument, volume and currency before calculating costs. For prop programs, align program version, account size, add-ons and payout option. If the inputs differ, label the difference rather than declaring a winner from a single headline price.

A hypothetical worksheet might contain an opening-and-closing trade cost, a holding-cost scenario and the expected withdrawal route. Add a separate column for evidence status. A blank cell is a research task, not a zero fee. This prevents incomplete data from looking like a competitive advantage.

Use differences-only as a shortcut

FINEX lets readers select criteria and hide matching recorded values. This reduces reading effort, but different wording is not always a meaningful economic difference. Return to the full view before deciding, inspect legal and eligibility conditions, and open the linked source for every decisive claim. The final result should be a shortlist with reasons and unanswered questions, not merely a star ranking.

Sources and scope

Sources are provider publications. Conditions may vary by entity, country, account and program. Recheck before signing up.
