Bybit UTA collateral: separate spot holdings from trading risk
Compare Bybit UTA collateral selection with separate subaccounts to decide which spot holdings can support derivatives and how usable balances change.
Identify the holding you want to separate
Holding a coin in UTA does not by itself make it independent from derivatives risk. Bybit warns that losses may affect spot assets used as collateral. Mark the holdings you intend to trade actively and those you intend simply to hold.

Compare asset selection with a separate subaccount
The fund-management guide describes disabling eligible assets as collateral and using separate subaccounts. These solve different problems: one changes an asset's margin role, the other separates strategy balances. Check which controls your account actually permits before moving assets.

Allow for adjusted collateral value
Collateral valuation may differ from the displayed market value because of the applicable ratio and index price. Do not build a safety buffer using the full headline value of every holding. The provider can change parameters, so an old example is not a current ratio quote.

Verify the result in account balances
After a permitted change, inspect margin, available and transferable figures before opening another position. Unrealized profits may support trading without being transferable. Save only a redacted configuration note; no FINEX live-account or liquidation test is claimed here.
