FXCM SSI, Real Volume and market-depth scope
Interpret FXCM Trading Station's SSI and Real Volume as provider-specific observations, while keeping market-depth access and mobile execution limitations explicit.
Identify what SSI measures
The platform page describes SSI as the ratio of net-long versus net-short traders in a pair. A positioning ratio is not the same measure as traded volume or a guaranteed price signal.

Diagram explained
Check the recorded terms before acting
- SSI is a positioning ratio
- Real Volume is an FXCM sample
- Depth depends on entitlement
Keep the sample boundary
Real Volume is described using FXCM's trader pool. Treat that as a provider data sample rather than all global foreign-exchange transactions; note the timestamp and instrument.
Do not assume universal depth access
The page says Active Traders can unlock market depth. Check the account entitlement and displayed levels; platform availability alone does not establish access to every feature.
Keep alerts separate from fills
The mobile disclosure identifies possible latency and duplicate instructions. Record execution confirmations separately from a sentiment alert, especially after reconnecting; an indicator update is not an order receipt.
