Top One Trader EquityShield: aggregate exposure

Understand EquityShield's symbol-level and account-level floating-loss tests without treating automatic closure as a guaranteed substitute for personal risk controls.

On this page 4 sections

Count a symbol's positions together

EquityShield describes a 2% starting-balance floating-loss trigger per symbol, aggregating positions in that symbol. Splitting one exposure across tickets does not create separate allowances.

Diagram explained

Aggregate positions before checking risk triggers.

  1. Same symbol: sum all tickets
  2. Also check combined floating loss
  3. Automatic closure is not guaranteed

Check the combined test too

The current page also describes combined floating drawdown above 2.5% across symbols. A portfolio can therefore reach a combined trigger even if no individual symbol reaches its own threshold.

Work a position-sum example

Hypothetical starting balance $50,000: losses of $600 and $450 in two positions on the same symbol total $1,050, above 2% ($1,000). Evaluate the sum, not each ticket in isolation.

Leave room for execution uncertainty

The provider warns EquityShield may not trigger automatically in some market conditions and can be adjusted by risk review. It is not a guaranteed safety net. Maintain independent exposure limits; Vietnam is restricted.
