IBKR: split conversions and minimum fees
Two small orders can incur two minimums; separate fee arithmetic from market-timing advice.
Minimum per order
Tier I spot pricing has a USD 2 minimum per order. Monthly traded value sets the tier, but does not turn all monthly orders into one shared minimum. This is the UK-route direct-client schedule; advisor/IB charges can be added.

Diagram explained
Same total need not mean same minimum fees
- One USD 10,000 order → USD 2 minimum
- Two USD 5,000 orders → USD 2 + 2
- FX timing and settlement not compared
Equal-total example
Assume USD 10,000 equivalent: one order’s USD 0.20 proportional fee becomes USD 2. Two USD 5,000 orders each meet the USD 2 minimum, giving USD 4 before other costs.

Not a batching recommendation
Batching can change exchange timing, settlement needs and idle cash. This isolates only minimums; auto-conversion has another basis and may not be available for the same operation.

Reconcile afterwards
Record order IDs, converted values, commission and fee currency. Withdrawals are not spot orders and use another schedule. Confirm account/affiliate permissions rather than inferring them from access to UK pricing.
