StoneX Trading inactivity: what counts and when fees begin
An unexecuted order does not count as activity under the UK inactivity rule; check the twelve-month period, base currency and reactivation conditions.
The twelve-month test
The cost schedule treats accounts with no qualifying activity for twelve months as inactive. It defines activity as a trade or maintaining an open position; placing an unexecuted order does not satisfy it.

Diagram explained
Check balances and reactivation instead of trading for a fee reset
- No qualifying activity: 12 months
- Unexecuted order does not reset the test
- GBP fee: £12 or lower cash balance
A balance cap matters
For GBP accounts, the aggregate monthly fee is £12 or the cash balance if lower. A hypothetical inactive account with £7 cash therefore reaches a £7 cap for that charge, not a £12 debit.

Use the correct currency and entity
The schedule gives different amounts for non-GBP currencies, including USD $15. These are UK-service rules; residence selects the account entity and does not establish the same fee for every StoneX group account.

Reactivation is a review
The schedule calls for reassessment after three inactive years for retail clients or one for professionals. The rebrand kept existing services continuous, but it did not waive future experience or contact-information checks.
