High Stakes daily reset: why floating profit changes the floor
Work through the named High Stakes drawdown rule while keeping the conflicting generic 2-Step rule visible.
Name the rule before calculating
The named High Stakes FAQ uses the higher previous closing balance or equity at midnight server time for its 5% daily allowance. Its overall 10% loss limit is absolute from initial balance. A generic 2-Step page instead states 3% daily; obtain the purchased contract version.

Diagram explained
Profit retracement consumes the new day’s room
- Balance $50,000; equity $52,000
- Daily allowance 5% × $52,000 = $2,600
- Daily floor $49,400
A profitable overnight position can tighten room
Hypothetically start with $50,000, then reach rollover with $50,000 balance and $52,000 equity. Applying the named 5% rule gives a $2,600 allowance and $49,400 daily floor. If floating profit disappears, equity returns to $50,000, leaving only $600 above that floor.

The overall floor still exists
In that example the separate 10% initial-capital floor is $45,000. The daily floor of $49,400 constrains the next session sooner. Recalculate both; the larger advertised maximum loss is not the usable allowance for every trade.

Check rollover and execution together
Record the server reset, both account readings and applicable contract before holding overnight. The programme FAQ separately restricts execution around high-impact news. Passing a drawdown calculation does not make every order execution permissible.
