CMC GSLO: premium, margin and refund conditions
Check CMC UK's guaranteed stop requirements and premium refund conditions, including how adding a GSLO can alter the position's margin requirement.
Check availability before price
CMC says GSLOs are available on most, not all, assets. Confirm the product overview rather than assuming every order ticket offers the guarantee.

Diagram explained
Check the recorded terms before acting
- Instrument and minimum distance
- Premium plus possible prime margin
- Refund depends on non-trigger
Distance and timing matter
The page requires a minimum distance and placement during trading hours. Outside those hours, it describes moving an existing level farther away rather than closer.
Reserve the required cash
Adding a GSLO can invoke prime margin, with sufficient available funds required for increases and premiums. A tighter planned loss does not automatically mean less margin.
Track whether the guarantee triggered
CMC refunds the original premium if the GSLO does not trigger, including specified manual-close or removal cases. Reconcile the premium and refund separately from trade P/L.
