Topstep $50K: EOD floor and XFA payout room

The limit moves at end of day but is enforced during the session. XFA starts from zero, not a withdrawable $50,000 balance.

Separate updating from enforcement

The reviewed $50K maximum-loss distance is $2,000. Its trailing level updates from end-of-day balance and never moves down, while touching the level intraday, including through unrealized loss, triggers liquidation. EOD does not mean the trader may cross the floor until closing time.

Diagram explained

Nominal buying power is not cash or risk headroom

  1. EOD balance rises → floor can rise
  2. Intraday touch still triggers the loss rule
  3. XFA starts $0; first payout floor becomes $0

A hypothetical Combine sequence

Start at $50,000 with a $48,000 floor. If the EOD balance becomes $50,800, the floor rises to $48,800. A later return to $50,000 leaves $1,200 room. The account label remains $50K, but usable loss room has changed.

XFA uses a zero-based balance

The XFA starts at $0, initially with a negative loss level for the relevant size. Its floor locks at $0; the first payout also sets it to $0 regardless of the earlier level. A request therefore requires checking the remaining balance, not only a payout percentage.

Payout caps and country are separate constraints

The default $50K XFA Standard cap is $2,000 per request and the Consistency path differs; the current policy also lists a conditional DLL purchase offer. Vietnam has XFA-only eligibility without LFA. Neither a cap nor a nominal balance guarantees an approved request.
