Trading 212: Pies and primary currency
Selecting USD for a standalone order does not remove Pie conversion or an earlier currency exchange.
Multi-currency has boundaries
Invest supports multiple balances and one currency per order; the reporting primary currency is fixed after setup. The feature is not presumed for CFDs or every currency/residence.

Diagram explained
Standalone orders and Pies differ
- Pies hold cash in primary currency
- Assume EUR 400 × 0.15% = EUR 0.60
- Two equal-value conversions → EUR 1.20
Pies use primary currency
Help says Pies hold primary-currency cash; additions/removals and dividend reinvestments incur 0.15% where conversion is needed. Standalone asset-currency orders do not establish direct Pie access to every foreign balance.

Two-conversion example
Assume entry and later removal each requiring EUR 400-equivalent conversion at unchanged value: 0.15% is EUR 0.60 each, or EUR 1.20 total. Real value changes alter the second basis; it is not a recurring fee on all NAV.

Do not import CFD fees
CFD’s 0.5% applies to differently denominated closed results, not this Pie rate. Reconcile conversion history and annual statements; multi-currency withdrawal is not automatically converted by the broker, though the bank may convert.
